September 14-18 Prague Action Camp - Register NOW! You and your revolutionary friends are cordially invited to the TacDam Action Camp. The camp will take place from the 14th to the 18th of September, and will focus on preparations for the September protests of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Prague. This camp will be a peaceful space to brainstorm, create props, celebrate, educate and prepare for the upcoming action. Trainings / Workshops will range from street theater to medical training. Although we have some specific trainers for many of the workshops, we envision the process to be organic and expect everyone to contribute by bringing ideas, props, creativity and humor. Proposed workshops thus far include: affinity group meetings, communication brainstorms, security training, medical training, role playing, tree climbing, tunnelling, samba band lessons, free media, World Car-Free Day actions, border control support, street theater, legal support training and so much more. If you would like to host a workshop please contact us ASAP at prague2000-trainings@gmx.net. The camp will be located on a farm in a village about an hour outside of Prague. The folks that live on the land have been kind enough to donate the space in return for all participants to respect it, them and the neighbors. Therefore, it is essential that we implement quiet time after ten and lights out at midnight. We will be making this easier for you by waking you up at 7 each morning. All accommodations, vegetarian food and supplies will be included in a daily donation. We are asking 80Kc to 300Kc per day on a sliding scale. Campers from wealthier countries are asked to donate at the higher end if feasible. Please be as generous as possible for obvious reasons. You will need to bring the following: sleeping bag, clothes, tent, bowl and utensils, cup, any medication you need, and biodegradable body products (please don’t bring toxic chemicals onto this land). Because of an incredible strain on money we are also asking participants to bring art supplies. The following is a wish list and no amount is too much: rolls of solid coloured material/fabric, cellotape/scotch tape, scissors, paint, paint brushes, rolls of paper, pens, cloth for banners, staple guns, cool junk, markers, needles & thread, sewing machine, chicken wire, first aid supplies, puppet making supplies, etc. There will be one afternoon that we will lovingly refer to as media day. Media folks will be welcomed to film and interview on Saturday, September 16. IF you are uncomfortable with this you may want to make arrangements to leave prior to noon on Saturday. However you may want to stay and test out your new media skills. The vision is a peaceful camp for us to brainstorm, create props, celebrate, connect, and prepare ourselves mentally and emotionally for the upcoming actions.
