Mobilising subgroup

The mobilising subgroup met on Friday to discuss various things concerning coaches, prices, trainings, allocation of tickets and other things relating on how to get to prague

Overview:

The meeting was quite productive considering it was the first meeting. A few topics were raised which the group had no mandate to decide upon so they were referred to the agenda of the June 12^th general S26 meeting.

These were;

The price of the coach tickets. Also the structure of paying for coach tickets
i.e. waged/unwaged.

Proposals for pricing was. £75 waged / £45 unwaged. We’re not sure of the accomadation/food costs of staying in prague over the period so it will be dependent on that.

We thought having two tickets available i.e. one which will include the art and resistance festival and September 26^th and one just for September 26^th .

Non-violent direct action training (NVDA) was proposed to be on a volunteer basis but would be advised. We said that maybe the beginning of august is a good time to start to have NVDA trainings, this will also give us an indication on how many people are going to prague.

Proposal for a finance/general accounting group to be set-up to handle donations, funds from socials,benefits,gigs…..etc.

Other stuff we talked about;

The timescale of booking coaches. We will be making our own tickets which we will begin to sell as soon as prices are confirmed (late June). Also because a few things have to be discussed in a wider group then we will have to wait until June 12^th. At the moment people have volunteered to be a contact/info point for the mobilising group. The email will be posted to the list soon.

The mobilising group aren’t meeting until after the main June 12^th meeting.

Propaganda subgroup

We will be meeting at 6.30pm at the bar in the Royal festival hall on Monday June 5^th (can we find another venue because I’m sick of that place) for more info contact michael 07941 355 508. The propaganda group has started work on a leaflet, pamphlet, the ‘map idea’ and various other stuff. If you are in London and want to get involved then please do. Or if your not in London and have some original artwork then give the number a ring.

Bulletin

The June Bulletin is finished. All those people who have sent me their addresses for the bulletin will receive them by Tuesday, apart from the people in instanbal and NYC! Perhaps a few days longer. The bulletin has been initiated in London but anyone can participate in its putting together. If you have relevant articles,artwork, info, contact info for groups organising in this country. The Bulletin at this moment is a crude A3 folded to A4 booklet. It will get progressively bigger and it’s just a way of included non-internet people into the actual ‘movement’.

New collective in Bristol

A few Bristol activists are hooking up together to see whats possible in Bristol.

Finance

We desperately need donations to pay for all this shit. The Bank account details will be posted to this list early next week (definite!). Also we should have some sort of discussion on how much we should donate to the INPEG in prague for putting all this on for us. The London collective proposed 20% from the account go INPEG (the INPEG is a coalition of groups who have put out the call for action and the mobilisation to prague).

UK-wide meetings

Whos up for organising a meeting/action training/workshop in your town? It was hoped from the workshop we did in the MAYDAY 2000 conference that the S26 thing isn’t gonna be so London centric and we would actual go and involved other cities in decision making and general networking.
